Austin Comic Con is in full swing. Although the convention center and the city seem to be less aware that the circus has come to town, the people are having the greatest time that you could expect. If you're in the Austin area, today Sunday, get over here and say hello. Show Austin how comic book fans have a good time. The costumes are great, and fans couldn't be happier. Of course we are all looking with concern for the hurricane. Flights are being canceled, and people are preparing for the impact. We can only hope that it won't be as rough as the weather folks say it might be. Let's everybody keep track of it, and pitch-in whenever possible.

This weekend, next weekend. This weekend, streetfare, movie, mixed martial arts, and The First X-Men, 5th issue. Next weekend, October, 26-28, Austin Comic Con, and a new wrinkle for us. We're bringing some new giclees of a few of folks favorite pieces of mine. The quality is actually terrific, and we're keeping the price down as far as we can. There's still time for pre-orders that I can work on on Monday and Tuesday. spyda@spydacreations.com I've heard lots of great things about Austin. Marilyn, Josh, Saori, and Jane will be there, to see if it's all true. We expect a great weekend. Is everybody in Austin going to come to the convention? We hope to see you. Best Wishes, Neal

Austin Comic Con Next Week I just did 2 interviews today about us going to the Austin Comic Con. The interviewers told me about things to do in Austin. There's a theater there where they removed alternate seats, and replaced them with tables, with food, refreshments and beer. Do that happen in other places? Here's one that doesn't happen everywhere. Bats under a bridge. Apparently folks in Austin get to see massive flocks of bats, flying out in the evening right in the middle of the city. There's 750,000 to a million bats. All launching into the night to feed, to the terrified delight of villages and tourists alike. Anyway, we'll be there October 26-28. If you want to pre-order your commissions, do it now. spyda@spydacreations.com

Neal's happy Ohio Wizard Convention

Simply nothing like it. Advance commissions. Jason was right!

I was able to present a dozen commissions at the Wizard Ohio Comic Con and have a casual dinner with Alan Davis and his lovely wife Heather. The commission sketches came out great simply because I had the time and the right place to do them in. That's why pre-ordering your commissions before a show pays off. They look great. Give a look.

Well it wasn't an endless stream of fans picking up their pre-ordered drawings at the Wizard World Mid-Ohio Con, but there sure was a good bunch of them. We'll be putting up their photos tomorrow. Getting those pre-convention commission done before the convention has been a win-win situation. Everybody's happy with the drawings, everyone had time to think about what they wanted to get drawn. And because I got them done well before I came to the convention, my wife Marilyn and I, got to go to dinner with Alan Davis, (my son Joel's favorite artist), and his lovely wife Heather. I can't think of a better way to do things. Two weekends from now, I'll be at the New York Comic Con. If you're going to have a commission done, I can't think of a smarter way to do it, than to pre-order and have it waiting there for you. Just contact Jason, at this link: spyda@spydacreations.com Incidentally, we're going to have a Gallery there with a whole bunch of my work, right near our booth. It's what Kris calls the Neal Adams Experience. It's what I call, showing you a bunch of work. Se you in New York. It's going to be great.
